Kataeb Leader Advisor Sassine Sassine considered that today's problem lies in a systematic plan to marginalize the state.
He also asserted that the country is currently experiencing an exceptional and occupation-like situation, hindering the functioning of institutions, with the presidency at the forefront.
Sassine highlighted that, upon comparing the tax collection rates, it becomes evident that the Mount Lebanon region bears the highest tax burden, contributing significantly to the state's revenue for covering expenses across all areas.
He emphasized that the primary solution begins with promptly electing a president for the republic, making necessary appointments, and reinstating equitable distribution of positions based on competence.
"These are issues that must be addressed, starting with lifting the occupation from Lebanon," he noted.
"We are faced with one of two choices: either an uprising leading to a state of civil disobedience, or continuing the struggle and resistance to liberate this country from the grip of arms," Sassine pointed out.
"International discourse today revolves around implementing UNSC Resolution 1701 to preserve Israel's security, but we don't hear talk about UNSC Resolution 1559, which disbands all militias in Lebanon and begins the liberation of our nation from the dominance of arms. We fear that the price of Israel's security might be handing Lebanon over to an axis that disregards institutions," he went on saying.
Sassine concluded, affirming that "the Kataeb Party is considered one of the most responsive parties to all Christian proposals. Our fundamental work revolves around unifying the 'Christian' and national voice. However, our problem today is sovereign and national, not sectarian, because sectarian issues can be resolved by building a nation on solid foundations."
