President of the Lebanese Order of Pharmacists Joe Salloum on Thursday indicated that the smuggled drugs from Iran, Syria, Pakistan, and several other countries through both legitimate and illegitimate crossings are found in unauthorized pharmacies and dispensaries, posing a threat to the lives of patients.
"The pursuit of smuggled drugs issue falls under the responsibility of the Ministry of Public Health. We as Order of Pharmacists have exceeded our jurisdiction to protect citizens, and have resorted to the Lebanese judiciary," Salloum said in an interview with MTV.
