Israel Strikes Hezbollah Smuggling Routes on Lebanon-Syria Border
Israel said Friday that its air force had struck crossings along the Lebanon-Syria border allegedly used by Hezbollah to smuggle weapons into Lebanon. The Israeli military said the strikes targeted "crossing points in the area of the Lebanon-Syria border" used by the group.

Hezbollah and National Renewal
The Salam government’s cabinet statement, which must be approved by parliament later this week, is another sign that much has changed in the way Hezbollah is addressing Lebanon’s new realities. The statement makes no mention of the triptych of “the Army, the People, and the Resistance,” which had long placed Hezbollah on the same level as the Lebanese armed forces. Today, both the president, Joseph Aoun, and the cabinet, led by Nawaf Salam, have affirmed, for the first time, “the right of the state to secure a monopoly over the holding of weapons.”

Salam Begins Official Duties at Grand Serail
Caretaker Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam, on Tuesday began his official duties at the Grand Serail, where he was welcomed with a formal reception.
Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Judge Mahmoud Makiyeh, greeted him, and after the national anthem was played, Prime Minister Salam proceeded to his office to begin his work by signing a directive related to the submission of files to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
Additionally, at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, the first meeting of the ministerial committee tasked with drafting the ministerial statement will be held, chaired by Prime Minister Salam.
The committee includes Deputy Prime Minister Tarek Metri, Finance Minister Yassine Jaber, Culture Minister Ghassan Salameh, Public Works and Transportation Minister Fayez Rasamny, and Industry Minister Joe Issa Khoury.
