Sa'ar stated that it is still unclear whether the attacker in the attempted assault on the plane holds a second nationality, as relevant authorities continue to investigate the circumstances and background of the incident.

He added that Israeli estimates indicate that the aim of the attacker was to kill as many Israelis as possible on board the plane.
