Report: Netanyahu Gifts Trump Pagers in Nod to Covert Hezbollah Operation

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly offered U.S. President Donald Trump two pagers during their meeting at the White House on Tuesday, as a symbolic nod to a covert operation that severely impacted Hezbollah in September 2024.

According to Israel’s Channel 12 news, upon receiving the gift, Trump responded, “That was a great operation,” seemingly confirming prior knowledge of the mission.

The report noted that the gift included one gold pager and one standard device.

In return, Trump gifted Netanyahu a framed photo of their meeting, inscribed with the dedication: “To Bibi, a great leader.”

In September 2024, an unprecedented operation targeted Hezbollah’s communications network. Thousands of pagers used by the group's operatives across Lebanon suddenly exploded, causing numerous casualties. Just a day later, a second wave of explosions hit Hezbollah’s radio communication devices, with hundreds of walkie-talkies detonating in a similar fashion, resulting in further deaths and injuries.
