Report: Hezbollah Members Remain Active in Southern Lebanon Pilot Zones

Hezbollah operatives are maintaining a presence in several areas of southern Lebanon designated as pilot zones, Israeli public broadcaster KAN News reported on Wednesday, saying the group’s members were posing as civilians to avoid detection.

According to KAN, Hezbollah members have been identified in Froun, Srifa and Zawtar al-Gharbiyah, three areas south of Nabatiyeh.

The report said the operatives were gathering intelligence and coordinating with local officials to assess and manage the damage in the area.

A Lebanese source quoted by KAN criticized the Lebanese state for failing to fulfill its responsibilities, warning that Hezbollah was moving back into areas as Israeli forces withdrew.

“The Lebanese State is not doing what it is supposed to do. Wherever Israel withdraws, Hezbollah moves in,” the source said. “This only underscores how critical it is to disarm Hezbollah, even before Israel withdraws.”
