Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi, stressed that political blindness has caused the economic, financial and social collapse of Lebanon.

In his Sunday homily, the prelate explained that this blindness comes from the egoism that pushed the parliamentary blocs and influential people not to elect a president in a bid to avoid order in the work of institutions, especially the parliament.

"Why do you direct your constitutional responsibilities to the destruction of the state and deprive it of reforms and its resources?" he asked, saying that injustice never lasts.
