The administration of Rafik Hariri University Hospital clarified that "the hospital received about 15 days ago two patients who showed the possibility of having scabies and were subjected to the necessary tests and procedures for quarantine and received the necessary treatment."
In a clarifying statement about what is being circulated in some media today about the spread of scabies in the hospital, it stated, "In anticipation of any risk of spread and to preserve the health of patients and hospital staff, the latter follows up through the relevant medical departments, cases that may be infected with infectious diseases or epidemics, and the hospital has experience in this regard and everyone attests to the way its staff deal with the most dangerous epidemics, recently represented by Corona."
It added, "The medical tests and examinations conducted to date on Friday morning showed that none of the hospital's employees have scabies."
The administration of Rafik Hariri Hospital stressed that "the nursing department and the department's administration are the basic staff on which the hospital relies and who work tirelessly and humanely in serving the sick citizens and have not fallen short in this in the most difficult circumstances and with the spread of the most dangerous epidemics."
It confirmed that "employees in various departments adhere to protective measures and procedures set by the administration, especially when dealing with patients, such as wearing masks and gloves and frequent hand washing."
It hoped that the media would "verify any news or information before publishing it, especially matters related to the health of the citizen, which may harm the reputation of the hospital and its employees and also cause panic among citizens."
It concluded "The administration is ready to clarify and answer any inquiries, as we have never been ashamed to announce any epidemic case that may reach us, but we used to announce and guide citizens and issue clarifying statements at the time, and we reassure citizens today that there is no spread of scabies epidemic in Rafik Hariri Hospital or in Lebanon."
