Public Sector Salaries Will Be Paid After Eid al Adha

Only two days are left before Eid al Adha starts, which includes administrative and banking closures. The holiday officially lasts three days and extends to the weekend, with official activities resuming on Monday, July 3rd. In this context, the issue of public sector salaries stands out.

The head of the League of Public Administration Employees Nawal Nasr indicated that it is extremely difficult to transfer public sector employees' salaries before Eid al Adha. She noted that only a few employees were able to receive four salaries. Moreover, she mentioned that deductions affect certain salaries, including income tax and retirement deductions.

The newspaper reported that some Lebanese banks have started sending text messages to their customers, specifically, public sector employees, informing them that they can receive their salaries at bank branches at the Sayrafa exchange rate of 60,000 LBP starting Monday.

Furthermore, employees who withdrew their salaries at a Sayrafa rate of 86,300 LBP will be reimbursed.
