President Aoun Schedules Consultations to Appoint New Prime Minister

Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun will hold parliamentary consultations to appoint a Prime Minister tasked with forming the new government. These consultations are scheduled to take place on Monday, January 13, 2025, at the Presidential Palace in Baabda.

Morning Consultations

The consultations will begin with Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri, who will meet with President Aoun at 8:00 AM. Berri represents the Development and Liberation Bloc.

Following Berri, Deputy Speaker Elias Bou Saab from the Independent Consultative Gathering will meet with the President at 8:15 AM. The consultations will continue with a series of independent MPs, starting with Jamil Al-Sayyed at 8:30 AM, followed by Adib Abdel Massih, Jean Talouzian, Osama Saad, and several others, with meetings scheduled every ten minutes until 11:50 AM.

At 11:50 AM, Firas Hamdan will conclude the morning session of consultations.

Afternoon Consultations

The afternoon consultations will begin at 2:00 PM with Yassin Yassin, followed by George Bouchikian at 2:10 PM, Nabil Badr at 2:20 PM, and Michel El-Murr at 2:30 PM.

The President will then meet with the Strong Republic Bloc, which represents the Lebanese Forces Party, at 2:40 PM.

At 2:55 PM, Hezbollah's Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc, led by Mohammad Raad and Amin Sherri, will meet with President Aoun. 

Next, at 3:10 PM, the Strong Lebanon Bloc, headed by Gebran Bassil, will hold its consultations. 

At 3:25 PM, the Democratic Gathering Bloc, led by Taymour Jumblat, will present its positions. 

Following that, the National Moderation Bloc, which includes Sajih Attieh and Ahmed Al-Khair, will meet at 3:40 PM. 

The Independent Consultative Gathering, including MPs Ibrahim Kanaan, Alain Aoun, and Simon Abi Ramia, will follow at 3:50 PM. 

At 4:00 PM, President Aoun will meet with the Kataeb Bloc, represented by MPs Samy Gemayel, Nadim Gemayel, Elias Hankach, and Salim Sayegh.

At 4:10 PM, the president will meet with MPs Tony Frangieh and Farid Haykal Al-Khazen from the Independent National Bloc.

At 4:20 PM, the National Accord Bloc will meet with President Aoun. This group is led by Faysal Karami and includes MPs like Adnan Traboulsi and Mohammad Yehya.

The Change Alliance Bloc will meet with the President at 4:30 PM. This group is composed of MPs Waddah Al-Sadiq, Michel Douaihy, and Mark Daou.

The Armenian MPs Bloc, led by Hagop Pakradounian and Hagop Terzian, will meet the president at 4:40 PM.

At 4:50 PM, the Renewal Bloc, including MPs Michel Mouawad, Ashraf Rifi, and Fouad Makhzoumi, will meet with President Aoun.

At, 5:00 PM, the Project for a Human Nation Bloc will meet, represented by MPs Neemat Frem and Jamil Abboud.

The Islamic Group Bloc, represented by MP Imad Hout, will meet at 5:10 PM, followed by the Development and Liberation Bloc at 5:20 PM.
