Israeli military forces conducted overnight airstrikes involving more than 50 fighter jets targeting key Iranian military sites, the Israeli army announced on Wednesday. The strikes targeted a centrifuge production facility in Tehran and several weapon manufacturing plants critical to Iran’s nuclear and missile programs.
According to the Israeli army, the centrifuge production site in Tehran plays a central role in expanding Iran’s uranium enrichment capabilities, enabling the regime to accelerate efforts to develop nuclear weapons beyond civilian use.
The military also targeted factories producing raw materials and components essential for assembling surface-to-surface missiles, which Tehran has reportedly fired at Israel in recent years. Additionally, facilities involved in manufacturing systems and parts for surface-to-air missile batteries, designed to intercept and destroy aircraft, were hit during the operation.
"These strikes directly degrade Iran’s ability to threaten Israel and the region," the Israeli military said.
