The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that 178,817 Lebanese civilians remain unable to return to their homes in southern Lebanon despite a ceasefire deal with Israel.
According to the OCHA report covering the period from December 6 to December 12, 902,717 Lebanese civilians have returned to their homes. However, a significant number, 178,817 people, continue to be displaced.
Additionally, the report noted that 55,000 Syrians have returned to their country following the ceasefire, which came into effect on November 27.
The ceasefire agreement ended 14 months of intense fighting between the Israeli occupation army and Hezbollah. Nevertheless, the truce is described as fragile, with reports indicating that Israel has violated the ceasefire over 225 times since its inception.
