Noun Says Kataeb Party Agreed to Sign Laws on Resumption of Beirut Blast Investigation

Deputy Paula Yaacoubian voiced her rejection over neglecting the Beirut blast case, saying that the decision to put out the fire that broke out in the port’s silos was taken.

“The deputies have a great responsibility to propose laws related to the explosion of the port and the re-launching of the investigation because they represent the people,” Yacoubian said at a press conference at the Parliament.

For his part, William Noun, whose firefighter brother died in the port explosion, said that the Kataeb party has agreed to sign laws on the resumption of the investigation and the prevention of its obstruction.

“The majority in the Parliament also agreed to do so. We are waiting for the vote, and we hope it will be based on a humanitarian approach instead of a political one,” he added.
