Neymar: Messi and I Went Through Hell at Paris Saint-Germain

Neymar has analysed the difficult time he spent at Paris Saint-Germain alongside his friend Lionel Messi.

As the team struggled to progress in the Champions League, fans turned against both Messi and Neymar last season, while there were also the ongoing issues with Kylian Mbappe.

"We lived through hell in Paris," Neymar told Globo Esporte.

"We were there [in Paris] to give our best and be champions, to try to make history.

"That's why [Messi and I] started playing together again. We got together there to make history. Unfortunately, we didn't make it.

"He went to heaven with Argentina. I was very happy for him. But, in Paris he lived through hell.

"In my opinion, he was unfairly judged in Paris. He had an exit that, football-wise, he didn't deserve."

Neymar's plan for a Santos return

The Al Hilal player also spoke about his move to the Saudi Pro League and what is a new stage in his football career.

Plus, Neymar, who has not yet been able to make his debut for Al Hilal due to injury, confirmed that his desire is to eventually return to Santos, the club where he made his name.

"I have the desire to return to play for Santos," he stated.

"I don't know when, but I'll be back for sure."
