Netanyahu Meets U.S. Envoys as Lebanon-Israel Talks Face New Test

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met in Jerusalem with U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Michel Issa and U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, the Prime Minister’s Office said, as Washington works to advance direct talks between Israel and Lebanon.

Issa and Huckabee have been involved in the Israel-Lebanon negotiations, which are being mediated by the United States.

The meeting comes ahead of an expected eighth round of talks in Rome early this month, as Washington seeks to keep the negotiating process on track amid continued tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border.
