National Social Security Fund Suspends Operations on Thursday, Escalatory Steps Begin from August 1st

Union of Employees of the National Social Security Fund issued the following statement:

"After receiving empty promises from Prime Minister Najib Mikati, and following the failure of communications and negotiations between the Minister of Labor Mustafa Bayram and the Board of Directors, and as we seek to address the deviation from the fund's original purpose, which is to provide social protection for beneficiaries due to the stubbornness of the Board of Directors, the Executive Council calls on all employees in various offices and especially the main headquarters to stop working on Thursday, July 27, 2023, as an escalatory step.

In case the Board of Directors does not respond to our demands, Tuesdays and Wednesdays of each week will be considered working days only, starting from August 1, 2023."
