Karaki Issues Circular Concerning Forms, Medical and Radiographic Prescriptions Priced in Dollars

The Public Relations Department at the National Social Security Fund announced in a statement:

"Based on a letter received from the Sickness and Maternity Fund Directorate regarding several complaints submitted by insured individuals and office heads, it has been reported that some doctors are recording medical expenses in foreign currency which contradicts the established laws and regulations.

Therefore, the Director-General of the National Social Security Fund, Mohammed Karaki, issued a circular stating that all doctors, pharmacists, and medical institutions contracted with the NSSF are requested to record the value of medical examinations, medication prices, medical, laboratory, and radiological work in Lebanese pounds. Failure to comply will result in the rejection of any medical prescription."
