Kataeb MP Nadim Gemayel met with U.S. Congressman Darin LaHood in Washington, with talks featuring high on Lebanon’s political and security challenges. The meeting underscored the importance of restoring Lebanon's sovereignty and ensuring State control over all military and security decisions.  

Gemayel outlined the Kataeb Party’s vision for overcoming Lebanon's current crisis and achieving full sovereignty, emphasizing the need for decisive reforms.  

The Kataeb lawmaker called for any international initiative that prioritizes the restoration of State authority, the deployment of the Lebanese Armed Forces across all national borders, and the exclusive control of weapons by legitimate forces. These measures, he noted, are in line with international resolutions and essential for securing long-term stability in Lebanon, enabling its recovery and future growth.

The meeting was also attended by Marwan Abdallah, head of the Kataeb's Foreign Affairs Department, and Zahi Abi Younes, the party's representative to the U.S. administration.
