On the 20th anniversary of the March 14 uprising, MP Nadim Gemayel commemorated this pivotal day in the country's history, reaffirming his commitment to the principles of freedom, sovereignty, and independence that defined the movement.
"On this glorious day, we reaffirm the righteousness of the March 14 project—the project of freedom, sovereignty, and independence," Gemayel wrote on X.
He emphasized the vision of building a strong, law-abiding state, one where the army and legitimate security forces have full authority over all Lebanese territory.
"The March 14 project is one aimed at building a strong state—a state of law and institutions, where the army and legitimate security forces exercise authority over all Lebanese territory," he stated.
The MP also took the opportunity to honor the martyrs of the March 14 movement, reflecting on the sacrifices made in the pursuit of these ideals.
"Today, we pray for the martyrs of March 14 and remind everyone that those who planned, executed, and assassinated them have all fallen... God's mills grind slowly but surely," he said, underlining the resilience of the movement despite the challenges it has faced.
In conclusion, Gemayel reinforced that the flame of the March 14 movement continues to burn brightly.
"The flame of March 14 will remain alive within us, a symbol of our struggle for the future of our country and our children," he wrote, reiterating his dedication to the cause of a free and sovereign Lebanon.
