French Restaurant Named the Best in the World

France's Mirazur has been named the world’s best restaurant, thus becoming the first French establishment to top the World's 50 Best Restaurant list issued by British magazine Restaurant.

The restaurant was established in 2006 by Argentinean chef Mauro Colagreco, the holder of three Michelin stars.

"I'm in the sky and I'm waiting to come back here. I don't have words to explain," Colagreco said as he accepted the award.

"Thank you my team. You deserve it, all these years. Thank you friends for supporting us during these last 13 years,” he added.

Mirazur was followed by Copenhagen's Noma, Spain's Asador Etxebarri and Bangkok’s Gaggan.
