Ministerial Delegation to Travel to Syria

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati has formed a ministerial delegation that will travel to Syria tomorrow (Wednesday) to hold a series of meetings with Syrian officials and help deal with the repercussions of the devastating earthquake that jolted several regions in Syria.

Earlier on Tuesday, Mikati contacted each of Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Abdallah Bou Habib, and Minister of Public Works and Transportation, Ali Hamieh, with whom he agreed to dispatch a ministerial delegation to Damascus, as an expression of solidarity with Syria in light of the dire circumstances it currently endures.

Grand Serail Meetings

On another level, the Prime Minister held a series of meetings at Grand Serail.

In this context, he welcomed MP Tony Franjieh, MP Qassem Hachem, and MP Ahmad Al-Khair, with whom he discussed the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that hit Syria and Turkey, the presidential deadlock, as well as an array of political affairs.

Mikati also received a delegation from the Association of Banks, which explained to the PM the reasons that prompted banks to go on strike.
