Mawlawi: We Must Prevent Strife Through Law Enforcement

Caretaker Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi noted that the security forces in Kahale protected citizens and civil peace, stressing on the pivotal role played by the security and judicial agencies to achieve peace and stability in the country.

"We are fully ready to stay updated to the developments and protect citizens as well as the course of the ongoing investigations according to the rules of the security authorities under the supervision of the judicial authorities in order to ensure stability," Mawlawi said after a meeting for Central Security Council.

Commenting on Ain Ebel crime, he said: "investigations are underway, we must prevent a strife through law enforcement, and the information indicates that there is no partisan background."

"We will not allow the camps, especially Ain el-Helweh camp, to become a gateway to disturbing security in any Lebanese region," he affirmed.
