Mawlawi: No Personal Disagreement With Major General Imad Othman

Caretaker Minister of Interior Bassam Mawlawi said from Dar Al Fatwa: "The visit was previously scheduled and was supposed to be held in the middle of last week, and it has nothing to do with any new circumstances in the media".

"The Cabinet session was scheduled to find a way to control the borders, the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers sent the invitations, and the Minister of the Interior is not the one who is supposed to invite anyone to this session", he added.

"We assured Mufti Derian that we do not tolerate any flaw in the administration or any directorate affiliated with the Ministry of Interior, and everyone wants a proper Lebanese administration and directorates where the citizen is free of any kind of corruption," he pointed out.

"We will keep up with our work in the Ministry of Interior and all its directorates, and we will not let any person who has been part of or proven to have committed some form of corruption return to the Lebanese administration", he stressed.

"There is no personal disagreement with the director general of the Internal Security Forces, Major General Imad Othman, and we are carrying out our mission with all the specific frameworks and this relationship is governed by the laws," he concluded.
