In a televised interview, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam sought to outline a vision for bringing the state back into the sovereignty equation and breaking the link between the logic of the state and the logic of force. He insisted that decisions of war and peace must be made by the government alone, and that the era of foreign guardianship is over. Lebanon, he said, cannot stabilize unless a state monopoly on armament is restored, with security and military decisions reclaimed by its institutions.

Caretaker Interior and Municipalities Minister, Bassam Mawlawi, has confirmed the rejection of any security chaos in Lebanon, stating that any support for armed factions is prohibited.
During an informal discussion with press correspondents before the meeting of the Central Security Council, Mawlawi explained that the presence of armed groups in the camps is monitored by the army, which has acted with wisdom and precision.
"We insist on the absence of armed individuals on the territory, and we do not follow the agenda of any party," he explained.
Mawlawi concluded that there are no fears of security incidents.
