Tawile Deems May Elections as a Chance to Rebuild the Country

Head of the Kataeb’s Economic and Social Council Jean Tawile on Tuesday blamed the current ruling elite for its failure in catering to the needs of the Lebanese, saying that it is processing in a direction against the interests of the citizen.

"The collapse is the collapse of the approach, and today we have a chance to build a country that resembles us, revive the economy, and work for the interest of the Lebanese people,” Tawile said in an interview with VDL24, the new streaming television channel of “Voice of Lebanon,100.5 FM”.

“We are living in an illusion and we will fight the battle and win. Today we have a chance to get the corrupt out of power through elections,” he added, deeming the current deteriorated situation as a crime against the Lebanese people.

“Reforms should be made so the Lebanese do not pay the price,” he noted.

“The economy, the public and private sectors require reforms as they are also suffering from an outlawed parallel economy,” he pointed out.

"You are the ones who will build the future and the new Lebanon," he said addressing the private sector.

“The tax evasion in the parallel economy has reached fifty percent,” he added.

“The most important thing is to build a State of institutions that grants the citizens their rights,” he concluded.
