Kataeb politicians on Monday marked the 17th anniversary of the Cedar Revolution, vowing unwavering commitment to the values that the event of the March 14, 2005, embodied.
“We will never forget those who sacrified their lives in the Cedar revolution. We haven’t stopped fighting to defend the principles for which they died for,” Hankache wrote on twitter.
For his part Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel deemed the 14th of March as a historical day saying that on that day Lebanon regained its sovereignty.
“March 14th is a historical day, on this day Lebanon regained its sovereignty and since then we learnt that the will of the Lebanese people can help them achieve the impossible,” he tweeted.
Resigned Kataeb lawmaker Nadim Gemayel recalled all martyrs who passed away on that day.
“Today, we pray for the souls of all the martyrs of the Cedar Revolution as they sacrified their lives to expel the Syrian occupation forces,” he wrote on twitter.
