Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel on Sunday deemed a mere national project as only way to save Lebanon; saying that this project unifies all Lebanese from all groups and sects.

 

“ The unification of all Lebanese threatens Hezbollah whose aim is to provoke security events so as to disperse the Lebanese people. It is time to build a new, developed Lebanon and this will be achieved when people hold everyone accountable with no exception in the upcoming elections ,” Gemayel said from Paris.

 

“ The meeting that took place in Beirut between opposition groups was not in isolation from the Kataeb party rather in coordination with it through the Lebanese opposition front so as to find a common ground that would allow the unity of efforts,” he noted.

 

“You have a great responsibility because you can vote freely and democratically without any interference or pressure that the Lebanese in Lebanon may be exposed to, including the pressure of arms and the deteriorating economic situation after the dramatic fall of the purchasing power which makes them vulnerable to all kinds of financial temptations ,” Gemayel said addressing the Lebanese expats in France.

 

 

The Kataeb leader also presented the events that took place after 2005 and 2015, during which Lebanon witnessed the departure of Syrian occupation forces and the division of the Lebanese between supporters of the March 8 alliance and others for March 14, whose leaders were subjected to systematic assassinations, up to the year 2016, the date of the presidential settlement in which the parties shared the capabilities of the country and surrendered to the will of the Hezbollah and handed it the country after they elected its ally Michel Aoun as a President.

 

 

“The Kataeb party have alone faced surrender to Hezbollah’s will and electing Michel Aoun as a president amid the absence of any opposition front at the time. In 2018, we were the only ones to announce that Lebanon was on the brink of collapse and the Lebanese pound would lose its value and that Hezbollah would control the country. In 2019, people took to the streets to protest against the ruling class, ” he added.

 

 

“Faced with this reality, the ruling system and the armed militia have applied the  policy of divide and rule between the pillars of the revolution, and they both tried re-spread the division on sectarian and ideological grounds in a return to war days,” he emphasized.

 

 

Gemayel called for unification and breaking down the barriers between the Lebanese people so as to rebuild a state of Law and a new developed country controlled by a competent and responsible people.

 

“The reasons for which you have to vote for the Kataeb party are the following : The kataeb party has never lied to the Lebanese and was honest with them, it warned against existing practices and did not deviate from its principles. When it said that it would not elect a Hezbollah candidate and that it would not remain silent about corruption, it carried out what it had promised. Second of all, the Kataeb party has a complete project for Lebanon which will be announced on the 30th of March. The project includes the political, economic and social aspects and it also includes health, education and others files. It will be published transparently on our website and it includes structural reforms that we consider necessary to observe Lebanon’s decentralization and neutrality and the elections of a Senate in a bid to form a State of citizenship. Lastly,  the Kataeb party won’t compromise on the interest of the country and will always be faithful to its promises,” he pointed out.

 

Gemayel also called on Lebanese expatriates to cast their votes into the ballot boxes , saying that May legislative elections are important so as to achieve change despite all rumors.
