Cabinet Has Convened for Its Third Session on the Draft Budget

The cabinet is sitting in its third session dedicated to discussing the draft budget.

Here's what we know:

    • Little information about the substance of the cabinet’s discussions has filtered outside, with the exception of the fact that the finance minister has apparently asked for language giving him exceptional powers to be removed from the document, which was prepared by his ministry.

    • The cabinet will not convene on the budget tomorrow. On Saturday they will return to study the budget of each ministry.

    • The budget text will still need to be voted on by Parliament
