Kataeb Party Warns Against the Tampering with Upcoming Elections

Kataeb party on Wednesday accused the Lebanese politicians to continue to process in a direction against the interests of the people in Lebanon, saying that they must be held accountable for their lack of responsibility.

“Lebanon is now facing a series of crises that are compounding and combining their effects. And yet politicians continue to invest new ways to deepen the country’s quagmire,” read a statement issued by the Kataeb’s Political Bureau following its weekly meeting at the party’s headquarters in Saifi.

The political bureau warned against tampering with the electoral process, saying that this step calls into question the intention of the ruling authority to undermine and suspend the elections.

“The upcoming parliamentary elections must be held under an international supervision so as to ensure their transparency,” it stressed.

“We believe that the national dialogue advocated by President Michel Aoun is only an escape from the reality of handing the country to Hezbollah whose will is to use Lebanon and its people so as to implement its regional agenda,” it pointed out.

The party stressed that the current ruling elite has lost its legitimacy and even its relevance in the eyes of the Lebanese population.
