Member of Parliament Jamil Al-Sayyed held a press conference on Friday at the House of Representatives, in which he responded to the US sanctions imposed against him yesterday by the US treasury Department, calling on "whoever claimed that he had smuggled more than 120 million dollars, to reveal one transfer that supports these claims."

"If I, indeed, transferred or contributed to the transfer of any amount of money, it means that the sum has passed through the Central Bank," he stressed.

"You are against crime, but how many of your allies and envoys shake hands with those who have the blood of the Lebanese people on their hands... Your only concern is who supports Israel and who stands against it," he said adressing the Americans.
