Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel on Monday called on the security services to intensify their presence and speedy intervention in Lebanon's northern region Akkar before things become incontrollable, saying that the city is suffering from deprivation and fires.

“Akkar, which suffers from deprivation and fires, is facing today worrying incidents of fuel detention on the roads, thefts and actions that indicate the deterioration of the security and social situation as a result of the bad economic conditions,” Gemayel wrote on Twitter.
