Hankache Deems Telecommunication Sector in Lebanon as Weak

Resigned Kataeb lawmaker Elias Hankache on Monday deemed the telecommunications and internet sector in Lebanon as weak, saying that the solution to this issue lies in having a good management.

“Lebanon has the most important resource, which is the Lebanese capacities. If we secure them a normal work environment, they would be able to show their talents without having to think about the electricity and the internet crisis,” Hankache told Voice of Lebanon radio station.

“Many Lebanese people have raised Lebanon's name in international competitions, and this shows that the Lebanese have capabilties but they don’t know how to exploit them as the State is systematically destroying them,” he said.

Hankache stressed that the authority always makes the Lebanese choose between the bad and the worse, saying that today it is forcing him to choose between the bad and the more expensive, even though the telecon tariff in Lebanon is among the most expensive in the world.

“The authority doesn’t know how to operate except in this way. There will be no hope in running this country in light of such an authority,” he added.
