Resigned Kataeb lawmaker Elias Hankache on Thursday stressed that the current ruling system has proved its total failure in addressing the Lebanese problems, deeming parliamentary elections as key towards change.
“If pro-active measures were previously taken we would not have reached this deteriorated situation,” Hankache told Voice of Lebanon radio station.
“The Lebanese diaspora are ready to stand beside the Lebanese people whether with their direct support or in the next settlements,” he said, affirming that their decision is free and no pressure can be exerted on them.
Hankache reiterated the Kataeb’s ongoing stance regarding the issue of the Jdeideh landfill, saying that the party will keep fighting to solve this matter with all available means.
“We are dealing with a mafia that starts with the Development and Reconstruction Council, the cabinet down to the parliament itself.
“The solution lies in sorting so as to have enough capacity in the landfill,” he added.
The resigned lawmaker affirmed that the party rely on the Lebanese and international Justice so as to protect people from this corrupted authority, voicing regret over the current forces who stand still amid the situation that is plaguing over the country.
“This regime is the worst regime ever and the only solution is to find our way out by holding parliamentary elections,” he concluded.
