Kataeb Party Deems Lawmakers' Resignation as a National Necessity

The Kataeb party on Tuesday deemed the lawmakers’ resignation as a national necessity that would restore power from the Parliament to the government and the presidency, recalling for immediate resignations of all the MPs, namely those who are unable to do anything in order to help the country overcome its crises.

“Lebanon has reached a dead end as a result of this political authority’s disgraceful and reckless behavior, which is practicing all kinds of humiliating crimes against its people,” read a statement issued by the Kataeb Political Bureau after its weekly meeting.

“All what we are witnessing today is the result of the quotas settlement concluded by parties who have handed over the country to Hezbollah in exchange for a handful of authoritarian gains,” it said.

The party voiced its appreciation to some of the friendly countries who have been showing concern towards Lebanon, deeming the implementation of the international decisions related to Lebanon as the biggest contribution to save the current situation prevailing over the country.

The Political bureau stressed that the country is heading towards a third wave of virus outbreak now that restrictions have been eased, slamming the authority for the slowdown in vaccinating the Lebanon people.

“Only 1.5% of the Lebanese have been vaccinated so far, which means that the country is heading towards a new wave of virus outbreak now that everything has been reopened in the country,” it added.

“The private sector has to be involved in the import and distribution process, on a condition that the Lebanese receive the vaccine for free and without favor from anyone,” it noted.
