Kataeb MP Elias Hankache on Thursday stressed that the cannabis legalization law will bring great benefits to Lebanon’s economy if applied within the regulations stipulated in it, saying that the authorization process should take place according to specific criteria.

“This sector can generate money for the country, create job opportunities and help youth remain in the countryside, leading to a balanced development,” Hanakche told Voice of Lebanon radio station.

"The Lebanese people today are represented as a supervisory authority; the mentality with which the revolution has started is weakening because there has been an escalation of awareness among people,” he said.

“This will make us rise to a State of institutions and law; thus, these laws will become applicable in their entirety without any diligence,” he added.
