“Unfortunately, an appeal against the constitutionality of the session cannot be filed to the Constitutional Council due to the absence of a law stipulating so,” Saade explained to Al-Markazia newspaper.
Saade mentioned that the appeal would be futile given that most of the Parliament's Secretariat members were already present in the said session.
She called for the annulment of the Article 8 so that such a challenge would fall under the Constitutional Council’s jurisdiction, as is the case in other nations.
Formerly, Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel condemned the initiation of the Parliament’s confidence vote session without securing full quorum, dubbing it “unconstitutional”.
