Hankache Hails Long-awaited Historic Moment on Lebanon's 76th Independence Day

“The Independence Day, commonly watched behind television screen, was celebrated today by the people in a civilian parade,” Hankache told Sky News Arabia.

“Lebanon is going through its greatest economic crisis in history as people are hindered from withdrawing their money from bank accounts and companies are laying off dozens of workers,” he warned.

The lawmaker called for forming a trustworthy government of competence and integrity in order to set the country on the right track.

“The people are fed up with political bickering”

Hankache asserted that the current mentality must be confronted because people aspire for change.

“The problem is that the ruling authority is so accustomed to hold meetings, to spar over shares and leverage that it ignored clear Constitutional laws which ought to be implemented,” he stressed.

“The Constitution is clear; assigning Prime Minister-designate comes before the government formation”

The Kataeb deputy asserted the need for holding binding Parliamentary Consultations to name Prime Minister-designate.

“Any delay in having consultations shows officials’ disinclination to carry out their responsibilities,” he affirmed.
