Gemayel Extends Condolences in Wake of Khaldeh Deadly Attack

Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel on Wednesday extended his condolences to the family of the martyred Alaa Abou Fakher in Khaldeh following the attack that jolted the nation.

“Our hearts are broken over Alaa Abou Fakher, his son and wife. A cruel and painful sight for every father and family,” Gemayel wrote on Twitter.

“Our hearts are saddened. Our prayers are with his family. May his soul rest in peace and may God protect Lebanon,” he added.

The Kataeb chief attached his tweet with a picture showing the victim with “martyr of the revolution on tyrants” written across it.

Abou Fakher, a member of the Choueifat Municipality and a Progressive Socialist Party supporter, was shot and later on died of his wounds on Tuesday night after the driver of a Lebanese Army colonel fired gunshots at him.
