Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel on Thursday slammed the government’s proposal to impose levies of $6 monthly on whatsapp calls and other calling applications, renewing his call for the government to step down.
“Taxes on Whatsapp? Your failure and incompetence got you to this point! You are turning the country into a joke day after day,” Gemayel derided on Twitter, attaching his tweet with the application's legal information which shows that the government does not have the right to take such action.
“We will not allow you to put your hands on people’s pockets again. You are incapable of rescuing the country from its ordeal. Leave,” he stressed.
