Energy Minister Nada Boustani on Wednesday reaffirmed determination to execute the high-voltage power lines project in Mansourieh despite the residents' utter objection and scientific studies proving the health hazards that such a plan entails.
Speaking to OTV, Boustani said that the installation works will end this week, adding that the second phase of the project will be finalized by mid-June when the poles will be officially connected to the relevant power station.
Boustani boasted about the controversial project, saying that the Metn residents will get a better power supply once the plan is achieved.
"The failure to install the two-kilometer power lines causes a waste equivalent to $20 million," she claimed.
Boustani stuck to her allegations that the project wouldn't have any repercussions on public health, saying that high-voltage power lines are seen everywhere around the world.
