Lebanon's Rainfall Triggered Crisis: Litani River Levels Surge, Inflicting Severe Damage

Heavy rainfall over the past two days has caused the Litani River to swell, leading to the inundation of several banana and citrus orchards, as well as fields planted with vegetables.

The damage is substantial, particularly in the Lower Litani region near the southern Lebanese towns of Bedias and Burj Rahhal.

Civil Defense advisories urge people to stay away from water channels, secondary irrigation canals, and to avoid parking vehicles near elevated walls.
