Lebanon’s Cabinet met Thursday at the presidential palace in Baabda, chaired by President Joseph Aoun, where it approved the creation of regulatory bodies for the medical cannabis and civil aviation sectors.
The government appointed Dany Fadel to lead the Regulatory Authority for Medical Cannabis and named Mohammad Abdulaziz Aziz as head of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Authority.
At the same time, ministers postponed appointments to the regulatory bodies for telecommunications and energy, extending the nomination deadlines for both by two weeks.
The Cabinet also put off debate on the Jdeideh landfill issue, an agenda item that has long stirred political and environmental controversy, scheduling it for discussion at a later session.
