Lebanon's Central Bank Asserts Control Over Exchange Rate Despite Unrest

Despite recent security tensions, Lebanon's Central Bank remains capable of controlling the exchange rate for the time being, sources from the Central Bank told MTV.

The bank has successfully accumulated dollars in recent months, thus bolstering the Lebanese pound.

However, the sources noted that the rising tensions have had a significant negative impact on the overall economy.

Regarding power supply and Iraqi fuel, the sources stated that there are no financial constraints on the funds allocated to the Electricité du Liban, whether in Lebanese pounds or US dollars.
