Lebanon is seeking formal representation in any consultations related to its affairs within the ongoing U.S.–Iran negotiating track, according to sources cited by Al Hadath.

The sources said the Lebanese State wants to ensure an official presence in discussions that touch on Lebanon, as diplomatic contacts between Washington and Tehran continue to develop.

They added that Lebanon’s ambassador in Washington has called for coordination on any approach to Lebanese-related files to be conducted directly with President Joseph Aoun, rather than through indirect channels.

The same sources said the Lebanese government has also requested to be treated as a partner in all matters concerning Lebanon that are addressed within the U.S.–Iran talks, underscoring Beirut’s desire to be formally included in any discussions that could affect its national interests.
