Lebanon will stop allowing travelers to leave the country using older non-biometric Lebanese passports starting October 1, 2026, according to a circular issued to all airlines by the head of the General Security Department at Beirut’s Rafic Hariri International Airport.

The circular said Lebanese passports issued under the 2003 model that do not contain biometric features will no longer be accepted for departure from Lebanon as of that date.

The measure applies specifically to departure from Lebanon.

Holders of the older non-biometric passports will still be allowed to enter the country, according to the circular.
