Several Lebanese traders have lately received word from European international industries that the amount they must pay as part of the cost of import would increase as of August 1, 2022, due to the impact of the gas crisis on factories’ operations in Europe during the Russian-Ukrainian war.

Data received from a group of traders transferring funds worth hundreds of thousands of dollars abroad to import goods indicates that prices will take an upward trend in the near future as a result of all the increases that have taken place whether on the import value or even on port fees that have been converted to dollars.
