Lebanese Association Closed Down Due to Sexual Harassment, Human Trafficking Charges

"Annahar" newspaper revealed that Mount Lebanon Juvenile Court Judge Joelle Abou Haidar decided to close down the Village of Peace and Love association immediately due to blatant violations against minors within the association.

The newspaper quoted lawyer Diana Assaf as saying that sexual harassment incidents were previously recorded in the association, but what has emerged now is a human trafficking crime.

Assaf indicated to the newspaper that judges used to place children in this association for their protection, but over time, it became evident that the association was involved in trafficking them by selling them to families in exchange for financial compensation.

As a result, the association was immediately closed with red wax, and its director was arrested.

According to sources, the association provides care for girls, whose ages range from newborns to 17 years old.

They are Lebanese, Syrian, or have an undetermined nationality.

They added that all minors have been moved to another association.
