Lebanese Army Takes Control of Another Palestinian Faction Site in Bekaa

As part of its intensified operations to enforce security and implement United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, a unit of the Lebanese Army, along with a patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence, took control of a site belonging to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine in the Bekaa town of Kfarzabad on Sunday, LBCI reported.f

This move follows the Army's recent capture of another site from the same faction in the town of Helweh in the Rashaya district, southern Lebanon.

The military is reportedly working to take control of other sites linked to Palestinian factions, including those in Bar Elias in central Bekaa and in Qusaya, eastern Zahle.

According to MTV, Army Intelligence conducted raids on three Palestinian camps in the Bekaa Valley, arresting six individuals and seizing a substantial amount of weaponry. The raids are expected to continue as part of the Lebanese Army's commitment to enforcing Resolution 1701, which calls for the disarmament of armed groups and the strengthening of Lebanese sovereignty.

In another significant development, Annahar reported that members of the Popular Front – General Command were evacuated from their military site in Hashmash, located between Qusaya and Deir al-Ghazal in eastern central Bekaa. The evacuation was carried out by the Lebanese Army, and the Lebanese flag was subsequently raised at the entrance to the site. The Palestinian militants were escorted out by Army Intelligence officers.
