Kataeb Party leader Samy Gemayel met Wednesday with United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, at the party’s Saifi headquarters to review Lebanon’s domestic situation and regional developments.

The discussions focused on ways to bolster and support the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and ensure the effective functioning of the Committee overseeing the cessation of hostilities, known as the “Mechanism.” Both sides stressed the need to fully implement the ceasefire agreement and to consolidate all weapons under the exclusive authority of the Lebanese State.

The meeting was attended by MPs Salim Sayegh and Elias Hankash, Kataeb Political Bureau member Joelle Bou Abboud, the Head of Foreign Affairs Department Marwan Abdallah, and the UN envoy’s political advisors.
