On March 2, Hezbollah fired rockets at Israel – though the decision for it to do so was almost certainly made by Iran – carrying Lebanon into a new war with Israeli forces. On the same day, Lebanon's government declared Hezbollah's military and security activities illegal. Shortly thereafter, army commander General Rodolphe Haykal made it clear to Prime Minister Nawaf Salam that the military did not have the means to implement the government's decision. Now, the Lebanese army finds itself in an uncomfortable position.

Kataeb Leader MP Samy Gemayel met with Ambassador of Poland to Lebanon, Aleksandra Bukowska-McCabe with talks featuring high on the latest developments as well as the ties between Lebanon and Poland.
Talks focused on the new political path in Lebanon following the election of the President of the Republic, as well as the ceasefire agreement and the need to fully implement international resolutions, particularly Resolution 1701, ensuring that all weapons are exclusively in the hands of the state across the Lebanese territory.
The meeting was attended by Kataeb Political Bureau Member Ghassan Abou Jaoudeh as well as Head of Kataeb Foreign Affairs Department Marwan Abdallah.
